A New Saxophone

I Got a New Saxophone

Screen Shot 2016-07-24 at 10.35.50 PMThis is the Allora Paris Series Professional Tenor Sax. Yea I know, it’s not a Selmer or Yamaha, Yanagisawa, or any of the other saxophone brands associated with pro sax players. Well, I don’t play at that level anymore. It has been 9 years since I seriously applied myself.

I know this site is supposed to be about getting healthy, losing weight, and tracking all that I am learning about being a better me (physically), but, that also has to do with me being a healthy person mentally and spiritually. When I lost my way some time ago I lost my desire for music, a talent given to me at birth.

I wasn’t just average. I was exceptional and I took pride in what I had accomplished as a musician. I was a pro.

The diet and exercise have allowed me to start feeling better. I am feeling better about myself as a person and who I am. For the first time in a while, I feel like I want to play again. It will probably be a while before I’m willing to do it for an audience. Not even sure if I can accomplish what I did before, but, like I have been doing with my health…I won’t quit.

This is the best saxophone I could get my hands on for now. And for now, it will do. If I find I need something else, I’ll make it happen.

  1. When it came I played it immediately for several hours. After 9 years of not playing I felt like a complete amateur. I’m hoping it won’t take too long getting back on top of things.
