My blood glucose has been looking really really good. And I am most satisfied that I did it with no medication. Intermittent fasting works very well to lower blood sugar and high insulin levels.
I am still reading (actually listening on Audible), The Diabetes Code, by Dr. Jason Fung. If you are struggling with obesity and type II diabetes you should read both of Dr. Fung’s books. Another of his books I have been reading is The Obesity Code. Obesity and type 2 diabetes are linked. One leads to the other, and, it all begins with the overconsumption of sugar and fructose, causing overproduction of insulin to deal with the crap-load of glucose in the blood.
I have lost some weight for sure, but, what I am most excited about is the possibility of actually reversing the condition of type 2 diabetes. And its not so hard to do once you realize that you can do it through lifestyle change.
I cannot believe how much less food I can function with. I am not struggling with hunger. I am not light-headed or cranky or any of the symptoms you would expect. I am not dangerously close to low blood sugar because I am not on any medication. For the past week, my blood glucose has been between 87-126. It is on the higher end only after eating. It quickly returns to normal after a little over 2 to 3 hours.
Another thing that has been helping in this journey is exercise. I can’t do much. At this point, with my physical condition, recovery is a painful process. I have been riding my bicycle about twice a week. I would love to do more, but, it hurts too much. I have degenerative disc disease. It seems with every movement and exertion the condition gets worse. I’m not sure what I can do about that right now except to hope it gets better.
Anyway, that’s what I’ve got this week. Hopefully, things will continue to get better.
P.S. Tomorrow morning I will be having a very painful cyst removed from my wrist. I could use your prayers.
