Still In The Fight

It has been a while since I last posted here. I have continued to have difficulty staying on track. I have not been consistent at all. And sometimes, I go for weeks off the diet. This is a new week, and I am making a new effort. For the last two days, I have been fighting hard to stay the course. Yesterday, I had short ribs (a lot of them). Before I went to bed, I had some scrambled eggs.

Today, I have not eaten anything. I haven’t had any significant hunger. In fact, I only remember having one. It’s only 7:43 in the evening. I’m sure I will have another one before the night is over.

My intent since last night is to fast for 36 hours. I think I had the eggs close to midnight. So, that means I can have breakfast around 12:00 P.M. I wonder if I have enough drive and the discipline to continue eating every other day? How much would it improve my health if I could sustain it for weeks at a time? Would it help me to lose weight?

The challenge tomorrow will be not to eat outside my diet, not to give in to any sugar cravings or carb cravings. I have plenty of the right foods here to get through the day tomorrow. I will have to choose moment by moment throughout the day to succeed.

It’s the top of the week. I’m taking one day at a time. Even sitting here writing this post, I am fighting the urge to eat. It has been a very long time since I have been able to make it through a 36-hour fast. I have a little over 8 hours to go. I’m looking forward to breakfast in the morning.
