Blood Work Results

In July I had blood drawn and then a month later went over the result with my doctor. All I heard was glucose levels in my blood were trending downward, and, my cholesterol was actually higher.

This crap is discouraging and makes me want to quit. All the reading I’ve done on my current diet do indicate that cholesterol levels would go up. However, my doctor is wanting to increase statin medications. I sometimes just want to quit going to the doctor, and if I die trying to better my health, so be it.

I have been feeling better; better energy healing faster after workouts, no heartburn, no gassy stink butt rot, and I’m losing weight. There are so many schools of thought on what we should be eating; how much cholesterol is the right amount, and a whole host of other shite. Who the hell should we be listening to?

The time before when I was in the doctor’s office, my blood pressure was high and my cholesterol was lower. On this last time, my BP was 120/77. If cholesterol is clogging my blood vessels, how is this possible? In my thinking, as the inflammation in my body decreases because I’ve discontinued grains in my diet, the blood vessels are less constricted.

That is my understanding. From everything I’ve been reading, I gather that grains, beans, lentils and like foods are not that great for human consumption. And I haven’t been reading books by witch doctors. The authors are real doctors and researchers. One of those authors is Dr. David Perlmutter, MD. In his book, Grain Brain, Dr. Perlmutter says, “I’ll take you on a tour of why an extremely low-carb and high-fat diet is what your body fundamentally craves and needs” (Perlmutter 62).

Of course, my doctor blamed my higher cholesterol on the food I am consuming. Technically she is right. However, I am inclined not to listen. The fact is that for the past 10 years I have done what my doctors have told me to do, and, in the process increased my medications 100% percent. Every new thing they find seems to require more medication or an increase in medication I’m already taking.

Well, I’m tired of it. I don’t want to do it anymore. I feel better! That has to account for something. I take more than 10 pills per day and they are still trying to increase dosages and medications.

I am going to keep on doing what I’m doing. Things just seem to be feeling great, and getting better. I have not felt as good as I do for a really long time. That’s all I have to say.
