At the end of my last post, I mentioned my shoulder pain. Since that time, I have been to physical therapy, to finally getting an MRI, so that doctors could tell me what I suspected from the start of it all. I have a torn rotator cuff. They finally got a clue when 4 weeks of PT only produced more pain.
It has taken me from early June til the beginning of this month (October) to get to this point: scheduled for surgery. I didn’t really feel like recovering from another surgery, but my pain was truly debilitating. I was basically operating with one arm. Already, my pain is less because the physical therapy was canceled for now. Of course, my sessions will resume after surgery. I only hope things are not worse afterward.
I look forward to getting passed this and back to health, back to working out in the gym. I feel weaker since having to stop. I still do some walking, but barely on my diet. I just felt like taking a little bit of a break from all of it.
My surgery is in December. It is a necessary step in getting back to physical shape. So, it will be a rough start of the new year for me. I’m not worried. It won’t take me long to recover. I will push myself as much as I can. At my age, I think the more active I am, the better. I almost immediately feel things begin to stiffen up when I stop moving.
I will post again after the surgery. I’m looking for a smooth recovery.
