Day 25-Zero carbs

Yesterday morning, my bp was 109/66. This morning, my BP was 118/77 (after some weightlifting), and my pulse was 70. These have been some great bp numbers without increasing medication. I can’t say enough how much better I have been feeling.

My back always hurts a little after walking. It feels worse when I sit and play the sax for an hour. After weight lifting, relief.

I haven’t really lost any weight yet. Sometimes, I worry that this is gonna be yet another diet that’s not gonna work for me. When I casually told people about intermittent fasting, at least two of them came back to me a few months later with news that they’d lost a ton of weight and improved their health with the method. I was jealous.

KNOW the keto diet works. I was on it for about six months. I lost nearly 40 pounds. Basically, you cut out sugar and processed foods, lower your carb intake, and increase your fat intake, and the weight melts away (that’s what happened to me). The Carnivore diet should be easier, right? In other words, shouldn’t I lose more weight by eating no carbs, no sugar, and no processed foods? I am certainly consuming enough fat. I’ve lost about 11 pounds and stalled. I’m in the fourth week now.

I have stuck to the diet. I’ve been faithful. However, I guess I shouldn’t complain. I knew it would be a slow process. I have less inflammation, and my blood pressure is near normal most of the time now. Considering how high it had been, the diet has already given me a miracle of sorts. If things continue this way, I could be off my medication in a few weeks.

My blood glucose is back to a steady normal. For a minute, I had really wrecked it. By the time I go to the doctor, I think it will be like it was before. I don’t know if my a1c will be normal. I was getting some pretty high numbers after Christmas. Maybe I will check it myself to where I am.

I suppose it would make sense that the weight loss will come sooner or later. Perhaps other healing must take place first. Weight loss is not the whole thing. It will be nice when it happens, though.
